Decaf
I am officially OFF caffeine.
I had a major headache that felt like a steel skeleton claw gripping and twisting my spine at the neck, but now it's gone and I AM FREE.
I want a Coke so bad.

Shiver
I went into a shop on Forsythe tonight to buy my sister a cadeaux when I saw this painting. Je l'aime.

Rouge + Lapin + Bois
Not sure why, but I like this sculpture. Maybe it's the red, maybe it's the rabbit. Maybe because it's made of wood.

Tea vs Coffee
I am going to try to drink less coffee, so for now I am switching over to tea. And it's not because tea is loaded with antioxidants, it's because I'm cutting back on the caffeine.
Disclosure: I am drinking a Coke as I write this post.

Every Every Every Time
Every time I call up a place to order food
if I say "I'd like to place an order for take out...",
they say, "For pick up?".
But if I say, "I'd like to place an order for pick up...",
they say, "For take out?".
And then I order, and then I ask, "How long will that be?"
And I hear, "One second please",
And I hear the scratch pad and the register and the calculation, and I cringe as I wait for it,
But they always say, "$9.50",
So I have to say, every time, "No no, not how much, how long? How much time?"
"Oh! About ten minutes..."
Every time.

Test Your Blood For Irish, Part I
Do you have Irish Blood? Here's one way to find out...
Watch the movie "The Wind That Shakes the Barley" (available on Netflix streaming, if you're down).
If you're blood starts to rise at the 6m 04s mark, you've probably got Irish blood.

The Cup & Saucer
On the corner of Eldridge and Canal Street, you will find the Cup & Saucer... an old school diner that feels like it was timeported from Albany circa 1959.
Here's my rec:
Corned Beef on Rye, Swiss Cheese, Russian Dressing, Cole Slaw.
It's pretty close to a Reuben, but if you ask for a Reuben they'll say they dont have that ;)

They Glide
This is an indication of how much I have been working recently. I dont know if it will make sense to you, but it was a big deal to me.
I was in Williamsburg, walking up Driggs to the L train, and I looked up into the blue clouded sky. And I was surprised that the clouds were moving.
I had forgotten that clouds moved.

November 5th, not so long ago...
"Like anyone who comes into contact with Liza, I do all I can to hurtle about her manic orbit. To be near her is to hold on like hell. Cuz to fall away for a moment would be like to oversleep summer. But for a few moments each morning when she awakes, I let go. And I stare. At blue eyes filled with goodness and found grace. At hair spilled in an improbably warm and sexy tangle. And, best of all, at a smile. Knock-kneed and new, but suggestive always of bounding across a city street. Every morning I smile back. Always bigger than the day before."

Ho'oponopono
Hoʻoponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. Similar forgiveness practices were performed on islands throughout the South Pacific, including Samoa, Tahiti and New Zealand. Traditionally hoʻoponopono is practiced by healing priests or kahuna lapaʻau among family members of a person who is physically ill. Modern versions are performed within the family by a family elder, or by the individual alone.

> 500 Trillion Unknown Things
The universe contains a potentially infinite list of things which do exist, but are unknown to us.
If I asked you to tell me about something you dont know about, you couldnt.
Please dont say, "I cannot tell you with great certainty anything about the rules of cricket, although I do know that cricket does in fact exist."
I am talking about real things, like an undiscovered planet which is 500 trillion light years away.
You couldnt have told me about that planet, because you didnt know it existed. You cannot tell me about something if you are unaware of it's existence.
So here we are, in a universe filled with unknown things. A potentially infinite amount of unknowable things.
The amount of things you will never know is infinite.

Zeiss Cinemizer 3D Glasses
I cant imagine that these things are good for your eyes.
But I also CAN imagine that in the future, everyone will be walking down the street wearing things like these, with augmented reality + location information flooding our senses. Not sure if that will be such a good thing.

The Social Network . Trailer
I'm gonna see this, not because of the weird piano cover of Radiohead's "Creep" in the trailer and not because Trent Reznor did the soundtrack. I'm gonna see this movie because Justin Timberlake is in it and he is undoubtably the greatest actor of our generation. Just kidding, although I do think he's a decent actor, ever see Southland Tales?. But he's no Denzel!
I'm gonna see this bc/ I'm hoping the entire first half of the movie will be full of just close-ups of the creators just typing line after line of code! ;)

Did you notice?
[Mini-Spoiler]
Did you notice, during the scene in Hot Tub Time Machine when the travellers first start skiing on the slopes in 1986, that the oversized cell phone guy passes John Cusack and says, "I want my two dollars!". It's the little things that made this movie great.

God Bless LeBron James...
... but I didnt want him to be a Knick. No disrespect at all. Just didnt think he was a Knick, right?
So this gets me psyched:
Marc Berman of the New York Post reported that during a speech at Carmelo Anthony's wedding, Chris Paul said, "We'll form our own Big 3", and he was referring to himself, Carmelo Anthony, and Amar'e Stoudemire.
Start spreading the news :)

Facebook Is Selling You Out
I went to my settings to turn off the "Instant Personalization" feature as soon as I heard it was announced:
Then I went to the "What Your Friends Can Share About You" section to make sure I was all clear.
So all set, right? Nope. I went to CNN (for the first time in about 100 years) and check it out:
Not cool, Facebook.
